We Watch the Stream – Exhibit Reception

Join us as we celebrate the opening of We Watch the Stream: Impressions from River Journey, a new art exhibit by artist and educator Jonee Kulman Brigham in collaboration with River’s Edge Academy. A public reception will be held Friday, May 12, 2017, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., with a presentation and water activity at 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
About the Exhibit:
During the 2014-15 school year, high school students and staff from River’s Edge Academy collaborated with artist and educator Jonee Kulman Brigham to explore the ways that they and their school are connected with the Mississippi River.
Brigham with River’s Edge staff and students documented their experience through reflective writing, photographs, maps, poetry and more. In the exhibit, these pieces are stitched together to give visitors the opportunity to appreciate the connections revealed, people encountered, and value of water discovered as the students traced the path of water as it flowed into and out of the sink at their school.
