Watershed Moment, Part of the WAKPA Triennial Art Festival
Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
In partnership with Public Art Saint Paul and the MWMO, MWMO Artist-in-Residence Sarah Nassif invites you to Watershed Moment, part of the WAKPA Triennial Art Festival, on July 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization. Participants of all ages will have the opportunity to learn indigo fiber art techniques and work together to craft a map of the MWMO watershed using indigo-dyed wool roving and fleece.
The event, part of Nassif’s ongoing Weaving Water project, will also feature tours of the MWMO’s Stormwater Park and Learning Center. Enjoy an evening by the Mississippi River and learn how the MWMO works with local partners to protect and improve water quality and habitat.

Bonus: Check Out the artARK!
While you’re at the MWMO, be sure to check out the artARK. Artist Seitu Jones’ floating platform for artistic and scientific exploration on the Mississippi River will be on display during the event. Jones and a naturalist will be on hand to engage people with the boat and share more about their vision for getting people out on the river to experience it in new ways.
