Nancy Stowe Named Mississippi Water Management Organization Projects and Outreach Director

Nancy Stowe, MWMO Projects and Outreach Director

November 27, 2019 | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Mississippi Water Management Organization (MWMO) is pleased to announce that Nancy Stowe has been selected as the MWMO’s new Projects and Outreach Director. Stowe began her work at the MWMO on Monday, November 25, 2019.

In her new role, Stowe (pronounced “stow-ee”) will provide leadership to an interdisciplinary group of staff that includes the MWMO’s capital projects, Stewardship Fund Grants, planning, and outreach teams. She will be responsible for aligning the MWMO and its partners toward system-scale planning and project implementation across the entire watershed.

Stowe brings a wealth of water management experience to her new role. Most recently, she was a Project Manager and Water Resources Engineer at Houston Engineering, Inc., where she worked on business development, urban flood resilience, urban water quality, flood control and regulatory review. She has also been a longtime participant in Engineers Without Borders’ Minnesota Professional Chapter, which is currently working on a water supply project for a Honduran community. (See her staff bio page.)

In her new position at the MWMO, Stowe will work in partnership with staff, her counterparts in MWMO member agencies/cities, and contractors to develop and implement planning, watershed assessments, capital improvement projects, and grant initiatives to achieve the land, water, and other natural resources goals of the watershed.

“I am honored and energized to work together with the rest of the MWMO team and their collaborative partners to further advance the organization’s commitment to protecting and improving water resources and ecological health, as well as its commitment to fostering individual stewardship through earnest and comprehensive outreach to our communities,” Stowe said.

Please take this opportunity to welcome and work with Nancy Stowe in her new role as Projects and Outreach Director at the MWMO.
